Accurate Language Distribution through Digital Infrared. On international events with many different nationalities and languages, interpreters do their utmost to make sure that all attendees have a perfect understanding of the speakers’ words. It is obvious that this effort deserves the best possible technology to bring the interpreted speech within the reach of the audience. Aladdin does just that. It delivers perfect audio quality to the audience using Digital Infrared signal transmission. The Aladdin 8 or 16 channel IR transmitter is the heart of a Infrared language distribution system and is compliant to the IEC 61603-7 and IEC 60914 standard. This means it can be used with other equipment compliant to these standards. The 8 RCA phono plugs, inserting external asymmetrical audio signals, are modulated and transmitted to the radiator(s) in the conference room. Sensitivity of each input can be adjusted enabling fine tuning of audio levels. Each of the audio channels can be assigned with a language name for easy identification. The radiator has four BNC output connectors providing signal to the radiator(s). Each output can drive up to 30 radiators with a maximum cable lenght of 900m. In bypass mode the BCN input connector takes signals from another transmitter allowing multiple rooms to be used. Activating the auxiliary mode during breaks will provide music to all channels. The lightweight and ergonomically designed Pocket receiver is able to receive up to 8 languages. It is compliant to the IEC 61603-7 and IEC 60914 standard which means it can be used with other equipment compliant to these standards. A large LCD display informs the user with the channel number, language name, volume, battery and reception indication. The receiver can be powered via the rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack with an authonomy of about 52 hours. Using disposal alkaline AA batteries the authonomy can go up to 70h. A built-in recharge circuitry increases the lifetime of the battery. The 270° wide reception angle and built-in error correction ensures a cristal clear sound. even when casually placed. Reception is not influenced by high frequency lighting and stays even optimal used in bright sunlight. The Aladdin RAD25 is a high power (25W) radiator used to emit infrared signals throughout a conference room enabling delegates of the meeting to listen to the speaker in their native tongue. Depending on the size of the room one or more radiators will distribute the audio signals to the IR reveivers. Up to 30 radiators can be connected in daisy chain on one HF output of the Aladdin T8 transmitter. Transmitting at a frequency from 2 to 8 MHz the system is immune to interference from high frequency lighting systems. Adjustable radiation angles ensures a maximum coverage. The radiator automatically follows the state of the transmitter. A temperature protection system switches the radiator from full to half power or off in case the temperature becomes too high. Automatic gain control ensures a maximum transmission efficiency compensating the attenuation of the used cables. Differences in cable lenghts between transmitters and radiators are compensated with the delay switch. When used in smaller conference rooms the radiator can be switched to half power.
